An ideal way to introduce maps, the puzzle also shows the major oceans and an illustration of a compass, to help children start to learn awareness of north, south, east and west. Puzzles are a good way to develop object identification and imagination skills. Encourage your child to look at the map and perhaps imagine what it would be like to be aboard one of the boats shown, or to live in a different country. You can also get them to name all the different types of animals.
